I’m going to be completely honest and say yes! It was a lot of hard work to get to where I wanted to be, but if you really want something badly enough, you will work as hard as you can to achieve your goals. First and Second year in college aren’t too bad…you can afford to relax a good bit and take 2-3 lunches a day if you want to :p But if you want to do well in final exams, a lot of hard work has to be put in as science degrees are competitive and people will battle through long hours in the library to be the best in the class! That said, graduating was one of the proudest moments in my life so far and starting this PhD has been worth all of the struggles in my final year. So yeah, it was hard to become a scientist but it was all worth every minute….and every euro I spent in the coffee shop trying to stay awake in the library!!
