      It can be extremely hot in orbit around Earth because there is no atmosphere protecting the astronaut. However if he/she is in shadow then it quickly becomes extremely cold as there is no air around to keep the heat there! Therefore Astronauts have to protect against extremes of hot and cold!

      Generally speaking, it is more cold than hot.

      In intergalactic space (no stars) the temperature gets down to -270 degrees Celsius. This is 3 degrees above absolute zero. We can get closer to absolute zero in the lab, so the coldest place in the universe is actually a physics lab.

      Depends where you are. Near stars it is really hot but in space away from stars it is really cold.
