Great question. It is quite possible that ghosts are real. We only have five sense organs that we use to build our reality. There could be all sorts of things floating aronnd but if they do not emit light, allow us touch them, or make noise, or let us smell or taste them then there would be no way to know they were there. A lot of people claim to have seen a ghost, and I find it hard to believe that when we die that that is the end for our souls.
So I think that there probably is some sort of energy that we could call a ghost.

There is a Nobel prize winner at Cambridge called Josephson, who is famous for his work on superconductors.

He is also equally famous for his interest in paranormal activities such as telepathy, believing that they can be explained by quantum mechanics.

We should be open to paranormal activities, including ghosts, but we would need some pretty hard evidence to support the existence.

I guess this is a fair question as we keep saying that we are open to the idea of there being other forms of life in the Universe. I think that ghosts are less easy for scientists to believe in because there is no evidence.

I have never seen a ghost (touch wood!) but I am open to the idea of some sort of energy existing after we are gone. Being scientific, I won’t believe something until I have proof though. However, there are stories about Ouija boards connecting with the spiritual world as the spirits move a wooden pointer to letters on the board. There are scientific arguments that the users are simply subconsciously moving the table because they want an answer from their loved ones who have passed away…this leads to a much deeper psychological concept for humans…do we sometimes see what we want to see? Either way, after seeing Jumanji I won’t be giving it a go anytime soon 😉
